When you are not sure of the force you need for your application to open or close, an adjustable gas strut might be the best solution. When in doubt, it is advisable to choose a gas strut with more force than you actually need. Can I adjust the force of a gas strut?
Yes, all our gas struts are adjustable gas springs. Our gas struts are shipped with a certain force. These struts have a valve. If you push the valve, the gas is vented out and the force is lower. Read our FAQ about this. Please be careful: when the force is too low, the gas strut becomes unusable.
What’s a gas strut lock?
A gas strut lock is a mechanical device used to provide controlled motion when opening and closing items such as doors, valves, hatches, and so on. It consists of a cylinder filled with gas and a piston that moves due to the pressure of that gas. The lockable gas spring is designed to secure the gas strut in a specific position, preventing it from moving. Which sort of lockable gas springs exist? Lockable gas springs are based on a manual gas strut lock, automatic gas strut lock, automatic lock or keyed lock. A frequently asked question is if we have lockable gas springs. All of the gas springs of Gasspringsshop do not have a gas strut lock. In many cases it is also not important to actually have a lockable gas spring. It depends on the gas spring application.
